Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios If you're one of the lucky few travelling to Florida in the coming weeks, then we heartily recommend this fantastic twist on the horror genre. Well we say twist, but it is just all our terror! All in the name of good fun of course. As you would imagine from the people behind Universal Studios, the effects are sensational. In fact they're so good, that the event is not recommended for young children or those easily frightened. We can pretty much guarantee that you have never experienced seen like this - the ultimate Halloween experience. Buy your Frequent Fear Passes in the UK to avoid disappointment. These great value tickets also allow you multiple visits - if you can handle that!

SeaWorld new ride in 2009 Following hot on the heels of their new waterpark, Aquatica, SeaWorld have announced details of a new mega attraction due to launch midway next year! In keeping with the oceanic theme, the new ride will be aptly named 'Manta'. It will be a vast rollercoaster which places riders in a horizontal position and sees them climb and plummet through the air but more excitingly, lets them soar across water, face down and just inches away! Check out the artists impressions, and remember to include a visit to SeaWorld next summer!

Hollywood Rockit Ride Bit strange - Universal opening a ride that is not linked to a movie or brand. Not that it really matters however. Having seen the plans for this monster, it could yet be the best thing in (and out) of the park! The main tower rises to nearly 170 feet and features numerous twist and corkscrews - just check out the artist's impression! Not only are we promised a rip-roaring ride that sees riders actually leave the boundaries of Universal Studios, but you also get to choose the music to accompany you along the way AND your whole ride will be recorded for you to personally edit and playback later! The Hollywood Rock-it is due to launch in Spring 2009

ALL NEW Orlando Flextickets. The best value ticket in Florida has just got even better with the inclusion of new water park Aquatica. We don't yet have gate prices for the new park so cannot tell you exactly how much you will be saving, but remember that the Flexticket offers unlimited visits over 14 days. Paying on the gate for one day entry is very likely to cost you a whole lot more than the £20 difference in price between the old and new style Flextickets (the old one's don't include Aquatica), so if you buy a new one, you'll be quids in.

Ticket ManOf course, if you are travelling before the launch of Aquatica in March, then make sure you opt for the old style 4 Park Flexticket (Universal Studios, Universal islands of adventure, SeaWorld, Wet'n'Wild) or the 5 Park Flexticket (Same but with Busch Gardens also). These still represent superb value for money.

The Simpsons ride at Universal Studios. Some of us have mixed feelings over the arrival of this ride. Not because we don't expect it to be anything short of brilliant, but because it is taking the place of that well-loved institution 'Back to the Future'. In any case, expect buckets of humour and tongue-in-cheek gags along with plenty of thrills on this simulator based ride. It's due to open in March, but you can never be 100% sure about these things. The adjacent gift shop has already been turned into 'Kwik-E-Mart', so if you're a big fan of the show, you can still pick up some original gifts even if the ride hasn't opened.

Biometric readers at SeaWorld/Busch etc? Looks like SeaWorld, Busch Gardens and Aquatica are following in the footsteps of Disney by implementing a thumb-scanning process as you enter the parks. What this means to you and me is that you will no longer be able to pass your ticket on to someone else after you have used it. This is something we have noticed recently when we finally got our paws on the new Aquatica tickets. We don't know when this will come into effect, but we assume it will be March - we'll keep you posted as soon as we're aware.
